BATON ROUGE, LA — Congresswoman Julia Letlow won today’s nearly two-hour U.S. Senate debate on the Moon Griffon Show, putting John Fleming on defense for his record while laying out a clear conservative vision for Louisiana.

Letlow drew direct contrasts with Fleming throughout the debate. She pressed him on his vote against the Farm Bill in 2014, his pro-CCS and illegal immigration votes he took while in Congress, his work as a federal lobbyist after leaving Congress, and his decision to abandon his duties as State Treasurer to pursue yet another office.

While holding Fleming accountable for his record, Letlow stayed focused on what Louisiana families are asking for. In Congress, she authored and passed the Parents Bill of Rights, giving parents real say in what their children are taught. She secured legislation included in the farm bill to protect Louisiana's agricultural producers. As a member of the House Appropriations Committee, she has worked to cut wasteful federal spending while delivering more than $200 million in targeted funding directly to Louisiana communities.

That record, combined with her commitment to strengthening Louisiana's oil and gas industry, securing the border, and standing with President Trump to advance the America First agenda, is what separates Letlow from a career politician who made Washington work for himself.

"Louisiana voters deserve a senator who has spent every single day fighting for this state, not one who spent it fighting for themselves and their power in Washington," said Rep. Letlow. "Today made that choice crystal clear."

Letlow also drew the broader contrast at stake in the May 16 primary. President Trump has given his complete and total endorsement to Letlow, while her opponents have abandoned Louisiana Republicans and publicly bashed the President.

"Louisiana needs a senator who will pick up the phone, call the President, and get things done for our state," Rep. Letlow said. "That is what I will do every single day. I will never waver."

Letlow will continue traveling Louisiana in the final days before the May 16 primary, meeting with voters across the state who are ready for conservative leadership that will not waver.
