Congresswoman Julia Letlow, Ph.D proudly serves as the voice for Louisiana's 5th District in Congress. She is a mom to Jacqueline and Jeremiah and running to be Louisiana's next U.S. Senator.
Born and raised in Monroe, Louisiana, Julia is the first Republican woman elected to Congress from Louisiana, originally elected in 2021 with 65% of the vote. She won a special election to serve the 5th District after her husband Luke passed away from complications of COVID-19. In addition to both undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of Louisiana Monroe, she holds a doctorate in communication from the University of South Florida.
She serves on the House Committee on Appropriations and the House Committee on Education and Workforce, where she works tirelessly to advocate for Louisiana communities and the next generation. A former educator serving in various roles at the University of Louisiana Monroe and Tulane University, she is committed to fighting for a brighter future for children and future generations.
In her time representing the 5th District, she has fought for conservative values and secured over $130 million in targeted support for Louisiana - supporting law enforcement, workforce development, and real infrastructure needs. She has also been a leader in Congress on protecting parent's rights in education and returning local control to the classroom.
After earning President Trump's endorsement and trust, she launched a Senate campaign with the promise of fighting for a brighter future for the next generation. In the Senate she will work to implement a conservative, America first agenda and never forget about the people who elected her.
